Community

My Foundation is based on helping childen, and I handpick projects that are close to my heart and home”

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco

The Foundation’s various volunteer projects allow us to clean the environment around our pools, rivers, and oceans, repair and revitalise derelict state swimming pools and bring sponsored swimming lessons to the underprivileged. Whatever we do, and whoever we do it with, the Foundation aims to inspire, save lives, and empower our ambassadors and partners to continue making a difference in their communities.

Current Projects

Midmar Mile 2024: This year a team of 10 swimmers represented the Foundation at the Open Water Swim in Durban, raising awareness for the foundation.

St Dunstans “Polar Bear Challenge”: Beyond the thrill of plunging into icy waters, the Challenge had a greater purpose – the Blanket Drive.

LSA Drowning Prevention Conference: We are proud to have been the headline sponsor at this years ILS Africa Conference.

LSA Programmes: In total, Lifesaving South Africa has reached 40,273 individuals with their vital programs.

Siyasandisa Academy: through joint efforts, we have achieved the following:

    • Water Safety Education: 2,200 learners reached across 8 events.
    • Learn to Swim: 412 learners benefited from 6 events.
    • Canoeing: 14 learners participated in 5 events.
    • Canoe Polo: 14 learners engaged in 1 event.
    • Water Polo: 30 learners taken part in 12 events.

Survival Swimming for our Rugby Youths: Alongside Lifesaving South Africa and ATLAS we are establishing a water safety program in Ocean View and Masipumelele to ensure the safety of our rugby youths in water activities. We are raising money for this initiative alongside World Sports Betting and taking a Rugby Sevens Academy Team to this year’s Dubai Sevens Tournament.

Pool Revitalization: Several public pools in the East Rand area are in urgent need of intervention to address their deteriorating condition and ensure their viability as community assets. We will be starting with the refurbishment of the Benoni pool.
