The Monaco Rugby Federation and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation are thrilled to announce the 11th edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Louis-II Tournament starting at 8:30 am.
This international U-12 rugby 7s tournament will feature a record-breaking 20 teams from 17 countries, including South Africa, England, Andorra, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Spain, France, Georgia, Mauritius, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco, Norway, Senegal, and Switzerland.
The tournament comprises three activities that cater to all levels of rugby enthusiasts. The main event is the international competition, where under-12 players will compete throughout the day for the final victory, with pool matches followed by knockout matches. Rugby for all offers initiations tailored to children and young adults with disabilities, while Rugby Tots accompanies children from 2 to 7 years old in their first steps with a rugby ball.
This comprehensive program is designed to provide a great celebration of rugby to both the public and participants, highlighting the sport’s importance in the Principality while promoting the values of discipline, respect, and solidarity.
Over the years, the Sainte Dévote Tournament has become a must-attend event for invited teams and young rugby players, giving them the opportunity to grow and flourish alongside opponents from around the world.
The tournament’s program for the day includes the first match at 8:40 am, followed by the opening ceremony at 10:30 am. The pool matches will end at 12:15 pm, and the knockout stage will begin at 1:30 pm. At 3:25 pm, Rugby for all & Rugby Tots will take place, followed by the finals at 4:00 pm. The awards ceremony will begin at 5:40 pm.
